I found myself wishing that I could control the night-light or the noises playing from the monkey via the parent unit, but it has only volume buttons and on/off controls. I found that night-light button especially helpful when my child was nursing overnight, and I would set it to 15 minutes, knowing that it would slowly dim when time was up. The Flex Stand gives you more of a lateral fish-eye view and can’t collect much of the sleep data that makes the Nanit Pro app fun to use, as a top-down view is required to collect that info. We then used talk-back buttons and a partner to check for responsiveness, noticing which monitors made the walkie-talkie function enjoyable—or difficult—to use. The camera can pan 360 degrees horizontally—it’s our only pick with that capability, though the Babysense MaxView is right behind it at 355 degrees, which is useful if you have multiple children in the same room.
